There are certain things, when after staring at them for long periods of time wanting to tackle them but you can't because there is work that still needs to be
completed, and then finally completing that work, that offer a great sense of satisfaction when you can finally address them.
Such was the case with the installation of the can lights and speaker wire in the chases above the entertainment and kitchen counter areas. If allowed me to finally begin closing in the the chases.

The Chase is the open space above the entertainment area |

As mentioned in previous posts, the
chases house wiring for power outlets, lights and switches, speaker wires for the
entertainment center, as well as all of the plumbing between the
indoor AC/Heating system and it's outside condenser unit, and on the kitchen side, the water lines to the kitchen and bathrooms. It was critical that all infrastructure be fully in
place because once the chases were sealed in, that was it, there would be no future access
short of cutting into the wall again.
With the installation of the now eight can lights over the entertainment area and the earlier work in the kitchen area, I could FINALLY begin sealing the chases!

After. Ahhhhh..... |

It sure feels good to FINALLY see drywall up there!! |
Completing a pending
task or even part of one is a great motivator for other things and can be a milestone of
sorts.
Closing in the kitchen chase is next!
